The Ryder Cup competition in 1999 was held at The Country Club, in Brookline, Massachusetts. Led by World Golf Hall of Fame captain Ben Crenshaw and dubbed the “Battle of Brookline,” in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of this historic U.S. victory, we bring you “Ryder Cup Sunday.” This one-of-a-kind artistic rendition of Sunday’s final round event ticket was created by world renown sports artist W.K. Gilbert.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
W.K. Gilbert was an athlete with considerable talent. Gilbert, as he was affectionately called, played minor league baseball for nearly a decade in the 60's. Ultimately, he was becoming more recognized for his artistic talent than his play on the field so he switched gears and started to focus on his artistic capabilities. To make a living, he became a sign painter. In his spare time, he focused on creating art pieces that captured his love of sports. During his lifetime, he created a portfolio of sports art that can be found in private collections and museums around the world. From the Indianapolis 500 and numerous NASCAR pieces to famous athletes in the NFL, MLB and more, W.K. Gilbert's paintings have always reflected his passion for sports and his love of art.
